'So Many Socks' tells the story of three generations of a Tibetan family in exile and the difficulties faced by families forced to move from their homeland.
The play, written by Annie Zaidi, is inspired from a book of poems, Kora, written by Tibetan author-activist Tenzin Tsundue, which highlights the problems of Tibetans in exile and offers perspective on the problem of rootlessness faced by Tibetans.
QTP started in 1999 and has staged plays including Project STRIP, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The President is Coming among others.
The Meta Awards, to be announced in New Delhi on March 9, consists of a specially designed trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh for the Best Production, Rs 75,000 for Best Original Playwright and Rs 45,000 for all other categories..
