City girl Punam Raut, who was the highest run-scorer in the final of the ICC Women's World Cup cricket in London recently, revealed her disappointment of not being able to celebrate a victory with Bollywood super star Akshay Kumar, who was at the Lord's Cricket Ground to watch the eves play in the summit clash.
"Many of us girls are fans of Akshay and it was great to meet him when he came to Lord's, But unfortunately we could not show our excitement as we were very sad after the loss," said opener Raut, who scored 86 in India's nine-run defeat to hosts England in the final.
Akshay, who was shooting at Leeds, visited the iconic stadium to cheer the girls during the final. The actor chatted with the girls after the heartbreaking loss and tried to cheer them up.
