Teen movies in Bollywood are most often a sad attempt. In the name of a 'young' movie, what's often dished out is overgrown men wearing 'young' outfits, trying to look cool while attempting to woo an equally overgrown woman in college campuses, while doing lewd dance steps.

Mujhse Fraandship Karoge stays true to its claim. It is a young movie, with actors who actually look like they have been just plucked out of a college canteen.

Vishal (Saqib Saleem) is a typical teenager, in crush with a beauty, Malvika (Tara). In the meanwhile, he is stuck doing a college project with Preity Sen (Saba), who he hates with a lot of gusto. Preity falls for rockstar Rahul (Nishant), who also happens to be Vishal's friend. Mix-ups happen when Vishal impersonates Rahul and starts an online chat with Preity, thinking it is Malvika.

A fantastic debut by Nupur Ashtana, who has managed to keep the movie light and breezy just like the relationships and friendships in campuses generally are. Not a single dull moment, the film keeps you hooked to the excitement and disappointments of not only the four main characters of the film, but also their friends. The dialogues by Anvita Dutt Guptan are genuinely funny and can be easily called one of the best in recent times. It is the small touches that Asthana has given to the movie that makes it special. For instance, there is a scene where Vishal and his friend start an impromptu antakshari with a rickshaw driver.

If you are a college student, you will obviously relate to this film. But even if you are older, the carefree and endearing nature of the characters will make you nostalgic and want to go back to those bygone days again.
The casting is near perfect. The lead actors, Saqib Saleem and Saba are absolutely natural in front of the camera. Saqib is a good find. The eye candies, Nishant and Tara come up with decent performances too.
The ending seemed a little too filmi but then what the heck, a fun experience for sure.

If I were a student, I wouldn't mind bunking a few lectures to catch it again, with my campus friends I so miss now.
