The cause behind yesterday's collapse was being ascertained. Incidents of building collapse are said to be common in Egypt due to illegal extensions and failure to adopt proper construction guidelines.
Last year, 19 people were killed and eight others injured when an eight-storey building collapsed in country's Matariya
district apparently due to illegal construction.
