Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' not only set a new benchmark at the domestic box office collections but has minted huge moolahs on the foreign shores too. Reportedly, 'Dangal' is the first Indian movie in the history of film's trade business to near the Rs 2000 crore mark worldwide. After shaking up the China box-office by earning more than Rs 1000 crore, 'Dangal' wins the highest grossing foreign language film of 2017 at Australian International Movie Convention, which is yet to be held.

The news was shared by the official handle of UTV Films, under the banner of which, the historic film 'Dangal' was made.
'Dangal' was a biopic directed by Nitesh Tiwari and was released on December 23, 2016. Based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita, the movie essays the life and training that Geeta and Babita go through to become world-class wrestlers. The film has Aamir Khan playing Mahavir Singh Phogat along with Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar and Aparshakti Khurana.
Aamir Khan and Fatima have reunited for Yash Raj Film's latest 'Thugs Of Hindostan', directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, which also features Amitabh Bachchan.
