Ludo King is possibly one of the biggest casual games in India right now. Not too much has changed from the original board version of the game, except maybe getting fancy dice and some powerups that can give you a small advantage.

You will find versions of this game all over the place and it isn’t a complicated math-based game. It is more of a sorting puzzle game, where the objective is to keep combining all the numbers by moving left, right up and down till you reach the goal. The game ends when you can’t move the grid anymore.

The grand ole daddy of gaming addiction is Pac-man. With its new avatar, the game brings a maze that never ends and local co-op multiplayer for up to four players. There are also newer powerups that do a lot more than give you points. Be prepared to fall in love all over again with this one.

Angry Birds 2 gave us more of what made the first game so addictive. Angry birds, a slingshot and puzzles. The formula worked so well that the game is addictive even today. Like PVZ 2, this one also introduced social elements which allow you to form clans and pit your skills against a random stranger on the Internet.
South Park: Phone destroyer
This South Park TV show-based tower defence game has you finding powerful character cards and defeating real opponents, all from your phone. The game has a lot of strategies involved and battles take place all over South Park sporting very familiar locations from the TV show as arenas. The game has enough chops to be a serious e-sports game, though there aren’t any international championships happening anytime soon.
Clash Royale
Clash Royale is part card game, part real-time strategy and part tower defence. The object is to defeat your opponent’s towers and defend your own in the three minutes of the allotted time. As you get to a higher level, the competition gets even tougher and that’s the beauty of this game.
Hearthstone
Hearthstone is a crazy popular card game with magic, myth and heroes from the Warcraft universe. The game is extremely addictive and super fun to play. If you are good at it, there are actual international competitions where you can play for prize money and glory.
Plants Vs Zombies 2
While the first Plants Vs Zombies (PVZ) game was a simple saga from start to finish, where you used the power of the plant to defeat zombies. The second iteration took that concept and pumped it up with time travel and hundreds of levels. There are also options to play with other people online, making it a fun social experience.
Tetris
Most of us would have played Tetris at some point in our lives and this game, though the same, still has all of the challenge and its addictive qualities intact. The official phone version of the game lets you play against other players and also has endless Tetris mode.

In case you haven’t played this one, all you have to do is get the candy to the cute little monster, by cutting the rope. The game starts slow but it picks up pace quickly with physics playing a huge role in how the candy reaches the monster. All iterations of this game are equally fun and you can jump right in from any version.

Candy Crush took the world by storm just a few years ago and then faded into the background. However, it is still a solid addictive match-three game. Fire it up once on your device and you won’t realise where the day, months and years have gone.
