Watch a play on choices
4 PM & 8 PM: Written and directed by Abhishek Majumdar, Indian Ensemble (in pic) stages Muktidham, a play set in an 8th century fictional town called Beerpur, part of a kingdom ruled by Buddhist kings. When Nath Nand, the head of a Hindu temple town, reaches his twilight days, he has a crucial choice to make — who will be his successor? Agnivesh, who believes in an armed resistance against Buddhism, or Yuyutsu, who wants to opens the doors to the so-called lower castes?

Listen to La Boheme
FEB 8, 7 PM: The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI) is showcasing a new production of Puccini's beloved masterpiece La Bohème. An international star cast of singers will perform under the baton of Carlo Rizzi, who will also be conducting La Bohème at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, this season.

For a story for Rolling Stone in April 2013, Buddy Guy said of the then 14-year-old who'd just played to loud cheers at New York's Crossroads Guitar Festival, “I had to unplug his amplifier to make sure it was him… I couldn't even play a radio when I was seven years old! Players like him come along once in a lifetime.” Well, Sullivan is now 17 years old and you need to be sure to catch him.

Graine Duffy Band
Guitar player, singer-songwriter from Ireland, Grainne Duffy's sounds comes with a Celtic experience. Her voice has the grainy feel that goes perfectly with her earthy songs. Duffy is a two-time winner at UK's BM Writers Poll — best female vocalist and best live performer. She counts Bonnie Bishop among her favourites. And, if you are in the mood for something slow and a wee bit sad, make a request for I'll Rather Go Blind.

Shemekia Copeland
Daughter of Texas Blues singer Johnny Copeland, Charon Shemekia Copeland started her music career early. While there's the usual mushy stuff in her song — 'every woman wants a man, a man who keeps his cool' — there's also depth to her songs. Crossbone Beach from the 2015 album Outskirts of Love, for instance, discusses date rape. Copeland has performed for the Obamas. So, if you do drop by that's one degree of separation.

Appreciate a local scene
FEB 6, 11 AM - 7 PM: Drop by at Jehangir Art Gallery to catch a glimpse of Karjat-based artist Pradip Ghadge's new exhibition, Astitva. The work showcases some astounding acrylic paintings depicting scenes of locals in hamlets engaged in conversations and everyday chores.
