This week, I am turning 40, so I thought these introspective tunes about coming of age may help, you and me. Listen on
The Beatles
1 Stop this train by John Mayer: “So scared of getting older, I’m only good at being young, so I play the numbers game, to find a way to say that life has just begun”. Add to this superb songwriting, his mellow voice, and well, life seems more sorted anyway.

2 In my life by The Beatles: They were masters of the lyric, and this song, to me, talks about knowing the people who stand behind you and love you after everyone is gone. “Though I know I’ll never lose affection, for people and things that went before... In my life, I love you more.”
3 Vienna by Billy Joel: Though this song is about a much younger person, it goes well for ones aging as well. In the end, we can only do what we can, and the rest will follow. Joel is lovely, and so are the lyrics. “ Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while...” I might just do that.
