Connect with your fam

Anuj Gosalia

Fambase.com is a platform for content creators to build a close-knit community of people who love their work. The platform allows creators to drive deeper engagement with their fam (core fans) via memberships-free and paid, workshops, mentoring sessions, one-on-one interactions, live group calls, custom content and merchandise.

Terribly Tiny Tales’ founder Anuj Gosalia, who is also the CEO of Fambase, says, “Fambase is super flexible and designed to accommodate all content types—short stories, essays, rants, poems, analysis, blogs, podcasts, videos, tutorials, workshops, polls, quizzes among others things. And, what is not available on the platform right now is getting built. Until then, creators can use links from third-party platforms to deliver the same content.” Some of the noteworthy curators on the platform include actors Yahya Bootwala, Amandeep Singh, Sainee Raj, social entrepreneur Vanika Sangtani and writer Tuheena Raj.

Fambase is an invite-only platform. However, if any creator is interested in launching their fambase, they can submit their details on the platform and the team will extend an invitation to them after going through their past work and social profile.

Ouchie, a personal care section by AYA PAPAYA KIDS, offers cartoon-printed bandages and mosquito patches. These bandages are not only water-proof, but also dermatologically-tested, non-toxic, and 100 per cent free from latex.

“We want to add the ‘fun’ in functional by bringing a smile to a kid’s face in the time of distress,” says Mumbai-based advertising and marketing entrepreneur Aleesha Malhotra, who started AYA PAPAYA KIDS in 2018. Although the first product that they offered was t-shirt for kids, they soon shifted their focus towards children personal care and hygiene segment and launched Ouchie in 2020.

The aim, Malhotra says, is to make first aid a happy healing process for children. “We want to make mundane everyday products cheerful for kids with vibrant colours and characters,” adds Malhotra. A box of 40 bandages is available for Rs 449 and each mosquito patch provides up to 12 hour protection from dengue malaria and chikungunya causing insects.

“I’ve always loved illustrating as a kid, but never thought of digital illustration as a career option. So I went on to pursue an academic career. However, when I realised my love for illustration, I worked towards making it my bread and butter,” says Norbhu, a self-taught artist. Most of her work is quirky and has a strong connection with Darjeeling, where she hails from. “I have grown up surrounded by greenery and open blue skies, something I sorely missed in the city. Hence, all of my illustrations include a lot of greenery, and nature almost becomes a primary character in them,” she concludes.
