Tracing the journey of legends and folklore is always interesting, as one often stumble upon the whys and hows of traditions that are blindly followed. At a new session, titled Talking Myt-hs, artistes Utkarsh Patel and Arundhuti Dasgupta, will take you through the lives of Manasa Devi, a deity still worshipped in some parts of eastern India, and Bahu-chara Mata from the west, while exploring the Draupadi archetype - a woman who is known to speak her mind and is aggressive.

"It is also the quest for power, one that is seen in the goddesses, which we will be talking about. The intention is to bring to light little known stories that help us understand our culture, our belief systems and ourselves. And, more importantly, to tell a good story, which has not been told before," says Patel.

Talking Myths Project is a curated online archive of myths from across the Indian subcontinent, providing a platform to anyone, who has a myth to share and start a conversation around it. For sessions like these, their primary research is through books and journals of academic nature.

While most of our stories are fading out of our collective memories, Patel thinks, it is important for a society to know what it is built on. "We need to know all the parts that make up our identity,"
he says.
