Jamaican athlete Hansle Parchment went on to win the 110m hurdles final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and better his performance. However, winning the medal is only the fairytale ending to what can be called a touching beginning to his Olympic tale.

Heroes are all around us if we look hard and for Hansle, that was just what he needed. Boarding on the wrong bus ahead of his Tokyo Olympics final, Hansle needed help and he needed it quickly. A saviour happened to appear in the form of a certain volunteer.

Here's how the rest of the story goes. Hansle Parchment shared the video and captioned it, "Reminder to be grateful always…The Japanese people are the sweetest ever. Thank you my friend @d_treefairy 🤗 Edit: @julianforte #tokyostory #thankful #grateful #blessed #thankyou.

In the video, he narrated the entire incident saying, "So guys, I have a story... For the semi finals, I accidentally went on the wrong bus to the venue. I was listening to music and I wasn't hearing the people in the bus, but I saw the sign on the top of the bus stand. I went on and did not think about it, listening to music on my phone. By the time, I realised this bus is going the wrong way and I'm not familiar with these surroundings. And I reached the venue and it was an aquatic place. I then came back to the village to take another bus back to the stadium. If I hadn't done that, I would not get back in time for a warm-up. I was trying to get one of the cars for the Games. But they are strict and adhere to the rules. I would have to book the car way before. I then saw a volunteer and I had to beg as she is not allowed to do much. But she actually lent me some money to take one of the taxis that are affiliated with the Games. I was able to get to the track at the stadium and with enough time to warm up. So I am going to find her and show her the gold medal that I was able to get because she helped. So, that's a nice gesture."

Hansle then proceeds to the same place and also happened to meet the woman who is known as Tiana. In the video, he asked her if she remembered him and she replies saying, "Oh, you!" He then goes on to repay her and also tell her that she was 'instrumental in him getting to the finals. Hansle then shows her the Olympic gold medal he went on to win. He tells her that it was because she helped him. Hansle then hands over a shirt he got for his saviour. The woman could not thank him enough for the kind gesture he returned.
