Former NBA star Dwyane Wade credits transgender daughter Zaya for helping him become a better person. Wade, 39, who is married to actress Gabrielle Union, said raising his daughter, 14, who came out as transgender last year, made him aware of the Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Queer (LGBTQ) community.

“I didn’t know anything. I really wasn’t knowledgeable about the LGBTQ community,” Wade was quoted as saying by entertainment portal, Female First.
“What it has done is it opened my eyes and my ears to something greater and bigger than I, and my daughter has allowed us gracefully to be her support system,” he added.
