Romanian tennis star Simona Halep, 29, is set to marry billionaire Toni Luruc, 41, on Wednesday. The former World No. 1’s wedding will be held in Constanta, a coastal city in Romania.

According to Tennis World USA, Halep told Romanian broadcasts: “It’s [wedding] a beautiful event. I am emotional. It’s an extremely important step. I’m happy it’s happening.”
Halep and Luruc, a high-profile businessman from Macedonia who owns various companies in Romania, have been dating since 2018. He has been married twice before. At the US Open, Halep’s third event since being sidelined with a leg injury at Rome, she suffered a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Ukrain’e Elina Svitolina in the Round-of-16. Halep is yet to announce when she will take the court again.
