Ahmedabad: With nothing but pride at stake, Bangladesh crushed Argentina 67-26 in the last Group 'B' match of the Kabaddi World Cup here yesterday.
Argentina's raiders put up a good show but it was their defence that led to their downfall as it contributed just two points. Skipper Aruduzzaman Munshi and Al Mamun also attained super 10s for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh finished third B with three wins and 16 points from five games. Argentina go home without a single win against their name as they finished bottom of the Group B.
Bangladesh were quick out off the blocks and took a 6-0 lead after three minutes as Aruduzzaman Munshi scored five raid points.
Bangladesh inflicted the first all out of the match in the fourth minute to lead 11-0. Argentina opened their account in the sixth minute with a tackle point to trail 1-14. Bangladesh's defence didn't allow time or space to Argentina raiders and led 17-3 Bangladesh continued their dominance as they romped home to victory.
