Maharashtra’s Yash Sathe seeded in the nine to 16 bracket, was given a tough fight and taken the distance by unseeded Shant Hingorani (Mah) in a boys U-17 round of 32 match in the KH Rambhia Memorial Juhu Gymkhana Junior Squash Open, an SRFI 3 Star event, at the JVPG Club on Tuesday.

After winning the tough opener 12-10, Sathe lost the nest two, before rallying to win 12-10, 7-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6. Second seed Anshuman Jaising (11-4, 11-2, 11-1) and Varun Shah (11-2, 11-1, 11-2), both from Maharashtra, had easy straight game victories to advance to the round of 16.
