The Indian men’s bridge team are on a roll, at second place after the first round robin matches among 11 teams. Only Japan are fractionally ahead. 


India started Day Three by drubbing Pakistan 20-0 and carried the momentum by beating the strong Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong China handsomely (15.26 VPs in each match).

The Indian mixed bridge team needed a productive Day Three. They began in a sedate manner against Pakistan, but beat Thailand by a good margin to get 16.72 VPs. At the halfway stage, the mixed team are joint fifth with Singapore. China are just 0.5 VPs ahead. 

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team are placed seventh and it’s an uphill task for them from here on.
