<p><a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/indian-womens-hockey-team-lose-to-aus-a-2-3-23529096" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>Australia</strong></a>&rsquo;s two-time Grand Slam doubles champion Max Purcell has accepted an 18-month doping ban, the International <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/tennis-players-in-the-dark-as-matches-at-madrid-open-suspended-because-of-major-power-outage-23530196" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><strong>Tennis</strong></a> Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced on Tuesday.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Purcell, 27, had taken a voluntary suspension in December for breaking anti-doping rules.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He has admitted to receiving intravenous vitamin infusions of more than 500ml on December 16 and 20, 2023. As a result of his ban, Purcell will forfeit the results and prize money won between December 16, 2023 and February 3, 2024.</p>
<p>Purcell&rsquo;s most recent Grand Slam title was the US Open last year.</p>
