WWE Raw 2016 saw Seth Rollins face off against Chris Jericho in the main event. If Jericho won he would get a title shot at Hell in a Cell.
Seth Rollins faced Chris Jericho, his arch-rival Kevin Owens' friend in the RAW main event. Rollins went on to defeat Jericho by hitting the Pedigree on him. This mean Jeircho would not enter the Hell in a Cell main event for the WWE Universal title.
Stephanie McMahon had earlier given Chris Jericho a chance to enter the Hell In A Cell 2016 main event for the WWE Universal title along with Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.
WWE star Goldberg, who showed interest in facing Brock Lesnar, had a reply in for him from Lesnar's manager Paul Heyman.

After dominating the match, Sasha Banks finally hit the Bank Statement on Charlotte, and Reigns delivered a spear to the interrupting Rusev. Both champions will face their rivals in Hell in a Cell matches on October 31.
Meanwhile, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson interrupted Enzo Amore and Big Cass' match by hitting them from behind before the bout could start. Cesaro took on The New Day's Kofi Kingston in a 1 on 1 match up. However, yet again Cesaro's new tag team partner Sheamus tried to show who's the better athlete - a debate which has been on for a while.
Bayley defeated Cami Fields with ease in her match but was attacked by Dana Brooke soon after. Braubn Strowman won his 2-on-1 handicap match and also alerted Raw General Manager Mick Foley to give him a 'worthy opponent'.
Sami Zayn and Neville teamed up for the first time on WWE Raw to face Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel and went on to win their match.
