Wild card entrant Germany's Andrea Petkovic, a former World No 9, registered a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 win over Chang Liu of China to enter the last eight of the USD 125,000 Royal Indian Open WTA Challenger at the Shiv Chattrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi yesterday
Petkovic will now play top seed Nina Bratchikova of Russia in the quarter-finals today. Bratchikova beat Olga Savchuk of Ukraine 6-1, 6-1 in the second round.

Though she represents Germany, Petkovic said that her soul is still Serbian and World No 1 Novak Djokovic is her inspiration. “We are all of the same age and Djoko is my current inspiration,” said Petkovic. “I have been away from the circuit for almost a year due to injury, but Djoko helped me in my comeback bid,” she said.
