Sumit and Vikash storm into pre-quarters; Mandeep ousted

Olympian Sumit Sangwan (81kg) and Vikash Malik (60kg) stormed into the pre-quarter-finals of the World Boxing Championships but it was heartbreak for Mandeep Jangra (69kg) here yesterday.

While Vikash overcame a stiff challenge from Poland’s Dawid Michelus to reign by a 2-1 margin, Sumit upset ninth seeded Petru Ciobanu 2-1.
