Ireland's two-time Olympic medallist (bronze in Beijing and London in light flyweight category) boxer Paddy Barnes taunted former World No 1 Rory McIlroy, who gave the Rio Games a miss due to Zika concerns, by posting a selfie on Twitter with the golfer's ex-fiance Caroline Wozniacki, the flagbearer of Denmark.

Barnes (29) tagged both Wozniacki and McIlroy when he posted the picture and captioned it: "Hey @CaroWozniacki. I think we make a great couple. What ya think @McIlroyRory."
McIlroy tweeted back to Barnes and another Irish boxer Michael Conlan — who had retweeted his compatriot's taunt, saying: "@paddyb_ireland — @mickconlan11 good luck lads! If your boxing is as good as your tweeting it should be 2 guaranteed golds!!"

To which Barnes tweeted back saying: "I'd say @McIlroyRory thinks I hate him, I don't haha I'm just bored and having the craic mate!" and then again tweeted: "Haha brilliant! Thanks."
According to reports, McIlroy ended his relationship with Wozniacki in a surprise phone call in May 2014 even as invitations were sent out for their wedding.Even though McIlroy claimed that the break-up was mutual, Wozniacki later said that he broke up with her during a 10-minute phone call and that she never saw or heard from him again. McIlroy is currently engaged to PGA manager Erica Stoll.

Barnes also took selfies with Serena Williams and US golfer Rickie Fowler.
