mid-day had reported on Saturday that Tendulkar’s idea appeared to be in limbo after the MSSA did not receive MCA’s letter despite its Managing Committee approving the proposal on November 8.
“Today we have received a letter from the MCA regarding Sachin Tendulkar’s concept. We will circulate the letter to all the cricket-playing schools and to our committee members. We will provide feedback to the MCA accordingly. This process will take at least two months,” MSSA secretary HS Bhor.
Tendulkar had approached MCA president Sharad Pawar for approval after the Technical Committee had rejected his plan. MCA is seeking MSSA’s opinion as they conduct inter-school tournaments like Harris and Giles Shields. As per Tendulkar’s concept, 15 players would get a chance to play instead of 11.
