Don Bosco (Matunga) registered a clean sweep of the hockey titles on offer at the St Stanislaus ground yesterday beating the home team on both counts — first for the U-10 MSSA Oliver Andrade trophy and then for the U-12 MSSA-Walter D'Souza trophy — in two keenly contested finales.
In the U-10 final, the bosco boys went into the lead with two first field goals by Advait Pol before St Stanislaus' Shaun D'Mello converted a penalty corner to ensure the teams went into the breather with just one goal separating them.
In the second half, D'Mello restored parity for the hosts in the 23rd minutes, but a neatly executed penalty corner by Bosco's Kashyap Chavan five minutes from the end sealed the fate of the match in the Matunga side's favour.
In the U-12 final, both teams fought tooth and nail again.
The Bosco boys enjoyed the better of the exchanges and rightly went ahead when Harsh Palande scored off a field goal in the 14th minute.
The Bandra boys thereafter tried hard for the equaliser but the Bosco defence stood firm.
