An interesting battle is on the cards when two of the country's best middle and long distance women athletes, Sudha Singh and Kavita Raut battle it out in the half marathon category of the 3rd Vasai Virar Mayor's Marathon to be run on October 27.

Registrations for the national level event, which offers a prize purse of Rs 20 lakh for the various categories, will close on Oct 18.
The men’s full marathon will see the return of defending champion Elam Singh from ASI, Pune, who will have to fend off challenges from the likes of Lyngkhoi Bining, Sanaton Singh, K C Ramu, Budha Ram and Angad Kumar.
