Shreyasu00a0Kemkar has been rewarded for his patience after the IES VN Sule Guruji all-rounder recorded a splendid feat of three consecutive 10-wicket hauls in three league games of the Giles Shield inter-school cricket tournament.

IES VN Sule Guruji's Shreyas Kemkar has bagged three consecutive
10-wicket hauls in his last three Giles Shield games

Till last season, Kemkar wasn't a regular face in the Dadar side's playing XI and had to be content with a spot on the bench.

u00a0But this season, Kemkar has become a permanent feature in VN Sule Guruji's starting XI. The kid has been in sparkling form and has emerged as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 31 scalps. His figures of 10 for 63 in the match against Hansraj Morarji Public School, Andheri completed the hat-trick of 10-wicket-hauls as he helped his team win by six wickets yesterday.

Things weren't so rosy for Kemkar till last year though. The budding spinner wasn't given too many chances in the presence of seniors . But, he was confident he would get his chance and remained patient. "There were seniors at that time and they were doing well, so I had to wait for my chance. I remained patient and was confident that I will get my chance," said Kemkar who idolises Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan.

Kemkar has shifted focus to his team's semi-final face-off against defending champions, Rizvi Springfield. The 12-year-old is determined to do his best and has set himself a target of 40 wickets. He is just nine shy of that number. "Our next game is important not just because we are playing Rizvi, but also because it is our semis. The target is 40 wickets. I will give it my all to achieve that figure,"
said Kemkar.
