Matunga Premier School's Ayush Singh led from the front and carved a brilliant 173 to help his school amass 414 for 4 declared against IES Secondary School in the under-14 Giles Shield Plate Finals last week at Karnatak Sporting Association, Cross Maidan. Mohd Yusuf Wadiwala scored 103 and put on 243 runs with Ayush. Left-arm spinner Ayush went on to wreak havoc with the ball and claimed 6 for 27 in the first innings.
Off-spinner Dipesh Kadge clean bowled Ayush when the batsman tried to late cut him. A little later, medium pacer Shreyas Shinde had Yusuf caught and bowled.
