American singer Taylor Swift enthralled close to 80,000 screaming fans at the Circuit of the Americas on Saturday with her famous hits ahead of Formula One’s Austin Grand Prix. The 26-year-old drew a mix of fans — young and old, who came solely to see her. Swift acknowledged the huge crowd that danced and sang throughout her set, which ran to 90 minutes.

“This show is really important because we have people from all over the world. Thank you for that,” she told the crowd. As for the F1 drivers, some wanted to see Swift, while others planned to stay away before race day.

“I’m going to try to meet Taylor. I know her a little bit. She’s amazing. I’m a massive fan of hers,” Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, the two-time defending Formula One champion, told reporters. “I like to have a very quiet dinner and a glass of red wine. I’m French,” said Haas F1 driver Romain Grosjean.
