Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Naseem Ashraf has denied having any knowledge of match-fixing allegations surfacing in Indian Cricket League (ICL) during his tenure.

Speaking from Washington, he said, "I have no knowledge of any such allegations and recordings of match-fixing conversations".

In fact, media reports suggest the recording was secretly done in Salim Altaf's room when Ashraf was heading the PCB. "If players come out with information about match-fixing, their awareness should be appreciated.

During my time as PCB chairman, nobody indulged in any such activities", he said.

However, in the audio version of the transcript, some players are under the scanner. Interestingly, Imran Farhat (the former Pak opener and one of the first persons to sign the ICL contract), is reportedly asked his teammates to abstain from fixing matches. He even threatened to report their alleged activities to the media after a player tried to persuade him to join them in fixing matches.
