Bombay Gymkhana announced at a press conference yesterday that it has received over 450 entries for the Indian Junior Open squash tournament to be played from September 2 to 6.

The tournament has been awarded the status of an Asian Squash Federation Platinum event and a five-star tournament on the Indian Junior squash circuit.
Chan Chi Ho is top seed in the boy's U-19 while, Ho Ka Hei is seeded second. In the girls' U-19, Sanika Choudhari of India gets the top billing and Ashita Pranaya Bhengra is seeded second.
Meanwhile, Harinder Pal Singh Sindhu of Tamil Nadu is top seed, while Englishman Robert Downer is seeded second in the men's singles of the 42nd Maharashtra Open squash tournament to be held at Bombay Gymkhana's glass-back squash courts from August 31 to September 3, the club announced.
In the women's singles, Sachika Ingale of Uttar Pradesh is the top seed, while Maharashtra's Urwashi Joshi is seeded second. The other categories in the Maharashtra Open are — men's over 35, men's over 45, men's over 55 and professionals.
"The Indian Junior Open is the largest International junior event to be conducted in India. The event has attracted more than 20 foreign participants," said Sumeet Rewari, the championship director.
