Former world professional No 7 Nalin Patel overcame Siddharth Parikh of CCI in a thrilling final to emerge champion in the Mandpeshwar Civic Federation Open Break Billiards Tournament.

Bombay Gymkhana's Patel prevailed 5-4 in a championship round between quality cueists who manifested their brilliant form with a slew of century and double century breaks at regularly intervals.


Earlier, Parikh, who struck 298 in the pre-quarter-finals for the tournament's highest break, halted India No 2 Dhruv Sitwala in the semi-final.
