India's Asian Games gold medal-winning wrestler, Bajrang Punia's elder brother Harender was thrilled to hear about his younger sibling's historic feat on the mat. Bajrang, 24, clinched India's first gold in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.

According to Harender, Bajrang had told his family that he will return with a gold medal. "Before leaving, he told us that he will be fighting for the gold medal. He also said, 'Iss bar, sona hi launga [this time I return with gold]. He did exactly what he told us. I am really proud of my younger brother," Harender told mid-day from Sonipat.

Harender, 27, a wrestler himself, gave a little insight into Bajrang's training regime. "It is not like he has prepared for this [Asian] Games from the last few months. He is so focused and level-headed that he knows what to do and what to avoid. I hardly remember him missing out on his daily routine for a single day, apart from his travelling and recovery day schedules," he added.
