The much-awaited Euro 2020 season is scheduled to begin on June 11 with Turkey facing Italy. The Euro 2020 will see 24 teams battle it out for the title in a month-long season. Many experienced midfielders across football leagues will be looking to showcase their experience, while the new lot will look to prove themselves and make a name. We have listed five such midfielders who will play huge roles for their respective teams at the Euro 2020 edition. Let's take a look at the top 5 midfielders to look out for at the Euros.


Bruno Fernandes (Portugal)



Bruno Fernandes is undoubtedly one of the top midfielders coming into Euro 2020. He is known for his playmaking skills and accurate passes as well as his goalscoring abilities as a midfielder. Fernandes is also very versatile and can operate as central midfield as well as a striker when needed. The 26-year-old made his debut for Portugal in 2017 and has played 28 games scoring 2 goals. He won the UEFA Nations League: 2018–19 with Portugal. He is part of the Manchester United team in EPL since 2020 and has played 51 games scoring 26 goals. Fernandes won the Premier League Player of the Month on 4 occasions last year and was the top goalscorer at UEFA Europa League 2019–20.

Toni Kroos (Germany)

The German midfielder made his debut for the national team back in 2010 and has been a backbone in the midfield through the years and is also regarded as one of the best. Kroos has appeared in 102 games and scored 17 goals for Germany, also winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He has the capability to dictate the game in the midfield and has a good vision with ball distribution creating opportunities ahead of the field. Kroos played for Bayern Munich between 2007-2014 playing 130 games and scoring 13 goals. He won 3 Bundesliga titles and 1 UEFA Champions League trophy during his time here. He joined Real Madrid in 2014 and has since played 215 games with 18 goals to his name. He is a two-time La Liga title winner and 3-time Champions League winner with Madrid.

Kevin de Bruyne (Belgium)

The 29-year-old Belgian footballer is another force to reckon with for the opposition at the Euro 2020. De Bruyne has exceptional skills is passing, dribbling and also plays the role of an attacking midfielder and is considered among the finest footballers today. De Bruyne's versatility helps him to also play as a second striker or winger. He made his debut for Belgium back in 2010 and has since appeared in 80 games scoring 21 goals. He was awarded the Belgian Sportsman of the Year and the German award for Footballer of the Year in 2015.  He played for football clubs Chelsea, Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg before moving to Manchester City in 2o15 and has played 177 games for the team with 42 goals. He won the team's player of the season three times, Premier League Playmaker of the Season twice and EPL Player of the Season once. We cannot wait to see this one perform.

Jack Grealish (England)

The 25-year-old English footballer had a great 2020-21 EPL season and will aim to showcase his football skills at the Euros. His role as an attacking midfielder and winger is performed to the best of his abilities and he will play a vital part in England's team if they look to clinch the title. He has played 7 games for England since his debut in 2020. He has played for EPL club Aston Villa in 185 games scoring 29 goals.

N'Golo Kante (France)

The 30-year-old French footballer is not only one of the most talented but also most loved in the game. Kante is considered one of the best midfielders today and is known for his hard work, pace, ball control and exceptional retrieval skills.  Ever since his debut for France in 2016, Kante played 45 games with 2 goals and is a winner of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.  He played for Leceister City in 2015-2016 and won the EPL title with them.  He joined Chelsea in 2016 and played 157 games with 9 goals to his name. He won the UEFA Champions League title, EPL title, FA Cup title and Europa League titles once each with Chelsea.
