Lionel Messi lost his third major title final with Argentina in three successive years. They lost to Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2014, to Chile in the Copa America 2015 final and this year again in the Copa America 2016 final.
It is still to be seen if if Messi can ever get that estranged feather in his cap by winning a title for his country. Meanwhile, here are some of the tweets from Messi fans lending out their love and support for the striker.
What a game. Really feel for Messi. Congrats to Chile. Remarkable tourney from them again this year. #CopaAmericaCentenario

Lionel Messi scored 5 goals in the Copa America tournament. No matter his failure on the big stage, he is still loved and supported by his fans over the world.
He has scored 55 goals in his 112 appearances for Argentina.
