The Delhi franchise, named Delhi Dynamos, have formed a strategic alliance with 14-time Dutch champions Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Earlier, the Kolkata franchise, christened Atletico de Kolkata, had announced a partnership with Spanish league winners Atletico de Madrid.

Speaking about the alliance, DEN Network (owners of Delhi franchise) chief Sameer Manchanda said, "We chose Feyenoord because of their player development and that was visible during the World Cup where they had 12 Feyenoord-trained players, including Robin van Persie."

Gido Vader, Head of International Relations with Feyenoord, also spoke enthusiastically about the alliance.

"We think that it's a magnificent development. For us it is a chance to enter a huge but a highly unestablished country. There is plenty of talent to be nurtured here," he said.

He also maintained that Feyenoord will not be setting up an academy in India at the moment and will focus entirely on helping Delhi Dynamos in the ISL. The tie-up entails developing grassroot talent, management of the team and transfer of players.
