Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 final, Team India's star pacer Mohammed Shami is just one five-wicket haul away from surpassing Zaheer Khan's record for the most wickets for India in ICC knockout stages in ODIs
In the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, Mohammed Shami has been a phenomenal bowler for India. Having played four matches, the pacer claimed eight wickets with an average of 19.87
In the ICC ODI knockout matches across 50-over format, Mohammed Shami has snapped 13 wickets in five matches. His best came against New Zealand during the ODI World Cup 2023 semi-finals, where he returned with the figures of seven wickets for 57 runs
Shami has however featured in only one final match, during the 50-over World Cup at home, taking one wicket for 47 runs in seven overs against Australia at Ahmedabad
Shami is India's biggest bet at ICC ODI events and the equivalent of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli etc with the ball, being country's top wicket-taker with 63 scalps at an average of 14.33 in 22 matches, with the best figures of 7/57. His five five-wicket hauls are the highest by any bowler across both ICC ODI events
