The announcement put in sharp focus BCCI’s muddled communication, coming days after Treasurer Arun Dhumal rubbished the same claims.

Worse, on Thursday, Secretary Jay Shah said in a contradictory statement that he has been discussing the leadership issue with Kohli for ‘the last six months’. Dhumal told mid-day on Thursday he was surprised by the announcement.
