Opener Jaiswal, 20, who has scored 301 runs in four games this season, missed the last two matches—against Assam and Delhi—due to illness.
“We will be playing without Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav as they are on national duty, so Yashasvi’s return is a big boost for us,” MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik told Sunday mid-day.
After Mumbai’s eight-wicket loss to Delhi on Friday, MCA’s senior selection committee included opener Divyansh Saxena, who replaced Musheer Khan in the 16-member squad. According to Naik, team’s doctor Deepak Parteki and trainer Vishal Chitrakar cleared Jaiswal to play and the selectors agreed.

On Friday, Mumbai’s interim chief selector Sunil More told mid-day that his team missed the services of Jaiswal in the last two games especially against Delhi. “He has been a consistent performer since the last season and has scored seven hundreds so far. We missed him in those games,” More had said.
Mumbai (23) are placed third after their next opponents Maharashtra (25). Saurashtra are at the top with 26 points. Mumbai are playing their last league game at the Brabourne Stadium where they claimed three points through their draw against Tamil Nadu.
