India’s 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was recently spotted during the promotional event for the upcoming Bollywood sports biopic, 83 at Filmcity, Goregaon, yesterday.

The film 83 is directed by Kabir Khan who has delivered many Bollywood blockbusters in the past such as Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Phantom and New York. The film, which is based on the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team led by Kapil Dev will star Ranveer Singh as Dev and Deepika Padukone as Kapil's wife Romi. The film will look at the road to the World Cup 1983 title and the struggles and challenges Kapil and Co faced. The movie 83 is slated to release in theatres on December 24, 2021.
