The MCA will have a new chief before July 26, a situation caused by the death of Amol Kale in America earlier this month.
As per the association’s constitution, the MCA needs to hold an election for the vacant president’s post within 45 days. Saharia, a former IAS officer, is likely to announce the election process soon.

MCA clubs, meanwhile, will get a stipulated period to change their representatives to cast a vote and then as per election schedule, aspiring candidates will file their applications.
Kale, who became MCA president by defeating India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team member Sandeep Patil in October 2022, passed away due to cardiac arrest in New York on June 10.
