The Dutch collapsed to 113 for six wickets with their skipper Scott Edwards getting dismissed for a first-ball duck. He has been the only consistent player for the Netherlands in the ICC World Cup 2023. The Afghanistan bowlers are not leaking runs from both ends and are making the Dutch batsmen struggle for runs.

Wesley Barresi and Max O'Dowd opened the innings for the Netherlands but with the early wicket of Barresi, Dowd alone scored 42 runs in 40 balls. His innings included nine fours but was later run out by Azmatullah Omarzai. Accompanying him was Colin Ackermann who scored 29 runs and got out by Rashid Khan.

The Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards and Bas de Leede were both dismissed early. Edwards departed for a duck, whereas Leede was dismissed for three runs.
