In the seventh game of the ICC World Cup 2023, a clash between England and Bangladesh at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium ended in England's favour.


England's Dawid Malan struck 140 runs, Joe Root smashed 82 runs and Jonny Bairstow played an inning of 52 runs against Bangladesh on Tuesday, October 10. Bangladesh's Mehdi Hasan picked up 4 wickets for 71 runs and Shoriful Islam grabbed 3 wickets for 75 runs.

Bangladesh's Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim tried their best to snatch the win from England's mouth by scoring 76 runs and 51 runs, respectively but was unfortunate at the end of the day. England's speedsters Reece Topley bowled by getting 4 wickets for 43 runs and Chris Woakes picked 2 wickets for 49 runs.

Earlier, Malan and Root added 151 for the second wicket after the former and Bairstow (52 off 59 balls, 8x4s) had put on 115 runs for the opening wicket.

England: 364/9 in 50 overs (Jonny Bairstow 52, Dawid Malan 140, Joe Root 82; Shoriful Islam 3/75, Mahedi Hasan 4/71).

Bangladesh: 227 all out in 48.2 overs (Litton Das 76, Mushfiqur Rahim 51; Reece Topley 4/43).
