Arham Jain smashed 136 for Oxford Public School (Kandivali) against Dr Antonio da Silva on the opening day of this week’s MSSA Giles Shield Super League cum Knock Out round at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Monday.


Arham faced 197 balls and hit 18 boundaries in his innings as teammate Saif Ali scored 87 off 99 balls as Oxford piled up 325-6 declared. In reply, Dr Antonio Da Silva were 45 for 2 in 12 overs at stumps.

At the Dilip Vengsarkar Academy, Oval Maidan, Modern English School’s left-arm spinner Vivan Jobanputra (4-75) and off-spinner Jasmeet Singh claimed 3-40 helped bundle out Anjuman I-Islam (CSMT) for 186 in 67.1 overs.

In another match, played at the Oval, Don Bosco’s (Matunga) medium pacer Dhruv Wadiya (3-40), left-arm spinner Atharva Parab 3-22 and off-break bowler Sharav Oswal (3-45) restricted IES English School Bandra to 137 in 53.4 overs.
