Bollywood actor and MotoGP’s brand ambassador in India, John Abraham has admitted that former India cricket captain MS Dhoni is a swifter rider than him. Abraham, who wants to start a motorcycle academy for kids, owns 16 bikes. When asked about a Mahi v John race, Abraham replied: “He [Dhoni] would win it. He is very brave. He is a sportsman, I am an actor. He is a very good rider, I must tell you.”

The actor recalled that his first bike was bought for Rs 17,500—a Yamaha RD350— from a Parsee gentleman. “It was a second-hand bike but very well maintained. I sold it for Rs 21,000. And that’s the first time in my life I actually broke down when I sold my baby, it was heartbreaking. I loved those riding days. Fuel was around Rs 17 or Rs 18 [per litre] then, not Rs 107 or Rs 116 or whatever it is right now,” Abraham said during a virtual press conference on Thursday in reply to mid-day’s question about his first bike-riding experience.
