An inspiring performance by Olympian Devindar Walmiki helped Champions Training Centre (CTC) clinch the St Peter’s hockey league title, beating Union Bank of India 5-3 via the shootout at Astro Park, Bandra, recently. Walmiki scored both goals for CTC in the fast-paced summit clash before UBI’s Tejas Chavan also netted a brace to take the game into the shootout.

Women’s champions Western Railway
In the tie-breaker, Walmiki, Vikram Singh and Darshan Gaonkar converted their attempts while only Rahul CJ managed to score for UBI. Meanwhile, in the women’s elite final, Western Railway got the better of Central Railway by the odd goal in three. Priyanka Wankh and Pinky Thorch scored for WR while H Lalrautfeli netted for CR.
