Virat Kohli's hotel room was decorated with balloons and petals by the hotel staff, who were ready with a cake, which Kohli cut along with his teammates.

After Virat cut his birthday cake, team members Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra, smeared nearly all the cake on Virat Kohli's face as part of the celebrations.
Virat Kohli then left for the Rajkot Stadium with the rest of the team for a practice session later in the afternoon.
