Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav has been appointed as the assistant manager at the Nagpur branch of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The 29-year-old completed formalities for the post on Monday, before heading for India's tour of Sri Lanka.
According to SportsCafe, a source said Yadav had a meeting RBI officials in May before the Champions Trophy in England, who gave their nod by appointing him in the sports quota but couldn't finish the formalities due to his busy cricketing schedule. The source further added that despite being financially secured like most Indian cricketers, thanks to the Indian Premier League (IPL), although Umesh Yadav didn't need job security, the aspect of having a permanent job was something he has been looking for.
Following on his father's dream to hold a permanent government job, India's premier fast bowler Umesh Yadav prepared for the examination of a police constable nearly a decade ago but didn't make the cut.
Umesh Yadav got his first contract with Air India in 2008 courtesy of Vidarbha skipper Preetam Gandhe but they didn't offer him a permanent position, despite his good performance.
