Shane Warne was not amongst the handful of past players to apply for Team India's head coach post recently, but that doesn't mean he was not interested.

"I am very expensive, I don't think they can afford me. Virat Kohli and me can have a good partnership, but as I said, I am very, very expensive," he remarked yesterday.

Warne is no slouch when it comes to mentoring young Indian cricketers. A lot of them benefited from his captaincy when he was part of Rajasthan Royals in the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, Warne revealed yesterday that his three children (son Jackson, daughters Brooke and Summer) messaged to check if he was safe after Saturday night's terror attack in London.

They were pleased to know that the ace spinner-turned commentator was in Birmingham and not in London where Australia play Bangladesh at the Oval today.
