Supporters of the Indian cricket team on Twitter seem to have taken a 'special liking' to talented cricketer Rohit Sharma.
Rohit has a happy knack of trending on Twitter no matter what he does. Whether he scores a ton or gets out early, he discussed threadbare on social media.
Recently, he has been trolled time and again by Indian cricket fans on social media for 'wasting his talent' by getting out early. More than his poor form in Test cricket, it has been his selection that has been a 'cause of concern' for fans with some even suggesting bias on the part of skipper Virat Kohli for retaining him despite his bad run in the ongoing Test series between India and New Zealand. But he has since then played some crucial knocks, which have revived his Test career.
But still, the Twitterverse keeps talking about him.
Well, now Twitterati were making fun of him for padding up, but not being able to take the crease. Rohit once again became the focus on social media because he padded up but was kept waiting for his turn while sitting in the dressing room for the longest time from the time India day one.
As it happened, the third and final Test against New Zealand at Holkar Stadium in Indore saw India bat first. Rohit padded up on day one, but remained in the pavillion for more than half of the second day's play also with India only losing their third wicket on day one off the final ball of 36th over. Skipper Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane then came together and stitched a 365-run stand, batting till the 148th overs. That meant Rohit was padded up for probably around 100 overs.
Well, that was cause for people to make fun of on Twitter.
HERE'S WHAT THE TWITTERATI HAD TO SAY:
Rohit Sharma Becomes Only Batsman To Be Padded Up In Pavilion For Longest Duration. Baithe Baithe Record Bana Liya. Talent.#INDvNZ #INDvsNZ pic.twitter.com/EqT2ueRXeU

Scoring 50 is no big deal in a Test Match. But if it comes from the super talented Rohit Sharma, the achievement needs to be on trend.
