R&B singer Rihanna was of great help to Kraigg Brathwaite during their youngers years. The sexy R&B star is a few years older than the Windies opener and she proved to be a good friend in their childhood

West Indies cricketer Kraigg Brathwaite was the star during the team's historic win against England in the second Test match last month. Kraigg Brathwaite, who scored 134 and 95 runs, played a vital role in West Indies chasing down England's total of 322.

However, it is a lesser known fact, that despite Brathwaite being a hero on the field, off it he is one of the most timid characters.

According to a post by Indian Express, R&B singer Rihanna was of great help to Kraigg Brathwaite during their youngers years. The sexy R&B star is a few years older than the Windies opener and she proved to be a good friend in their childhood. Rihanna, then known as Robyn Fenty, would travel by the same bus as Kraigg Brathwaite at St. Michael's. Brathwaite, who was always being bullied and picked on in school had protection by his side in the form of Rihanna.

Apparently, Rihanna not only used to put him on her lap, but also beat other kids who would dare to pick on Kraigg Brathwaite.

Even after their school days were over and they grew up, Rihanna still did not forget to look out for Kraigg. During her music tour in the US, Rihanna had front-row seats for Brathwaite and the U-19 West Indies cricket team at the time.

While, Kraigg Brathwaite and Rihanna never dated, she did go on to date R&B singer Chris Brown later during her career.
