Chairman of the Mumbai selection committee, Ajit Agarkar and his co-selectors yesterday met the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials and the Bombay High Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) to put forward their viewpoint after an MCA member moved a resolution to replace the senior selection panel on Monday.

Parsee Gymkhana's cricket secretary and vice-president Khodadad Yazdegardi, accused Agarkar & Co of not watching local matches, which was the reason top performers on the club circuit were being ignored for the Mumbai probables camp (or fitness camp as the MCA has called it). On Monday, he submitted more than 30 signatures from MCA members, the number required to call a Special General Meeting.

The MCA yesterday completed the verification process of the signatures. Agarkar and the other three selectors (Nilesh Kulkarni, Jatin Paranjape and Sunil More) arrived on time for the meeting with the MCA officials.

The meeting concluded with a brief chat with the CoA. While the selectors provided their viewpoint on the accusations, they also wanted to know about MCA's process in dealing with the SGM. mid-day learnt that Agarkar offered to resign during the meeting, but MCA advised the selectors not to take any decision in a haste. The MCA also communicated to the selectors to continue with their task on hand as preparation for the season shouldn't be hampered.
